  1. Clara, this is fantastic!!! So creative ... both the video and the accompanying music!!! I just love paperwhites....

And what a day to download it. It's windy and oh so chilllllly here. We have lovely flowers blooming all around us in an early Spring, and I just hope the temperatures don't get them.

Tip o' the hat, and many thanks for the lovely video post....

  2. Clara,

You have done a wonderful job on your video. No one would guess that this is your "first"! I look forward to more.

I also thought that your title "Downloading Spring" was so good. When Jim watched it a few minutes ago, he said that we need some of those in our house. We have bulbs popping up everywhere outside already and today I saw the actual Hyacinth flowers starting to bloom. It is for sure that the ones in your video will last so much longer. It does make a perfect winter reminder of things to come.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Thanks for the kind words. The Narcissus box was a gift. We had never tried them before and were amazed daily at their growth in our kitchen window. It was so much fun to watch them daily. I decided to document the growth, and voila! I need to learn how to end the music and the pics at the same time-------another lesson.

  5. Oh...I got carried away with the "publish your comment" button.
Also wanted to compliment your choice of music and your little poem at the beginning. Girl! What are you gonna do next?

  7. Clara, the more I've thought about your post the more I've wanted to say "thank you" again ... this time for illustrating so well that there is more to our "Voices" than audible, aural sounds (though again, the music you used is beautiful)....

Some of the sweetest "Voices" are manifest in the smile of a child ... or a pet (and yes, they can and do smile, as animal lovers well know) ... even if you edit out the accompanying cries and yips of joy, these "Voices" speak volumes and lift our hearts. The looks in the eyes of lovers, the beauty of a sunset or glorious flowers ... all convey eloquently, without the need for words or sounds, those transcendent moments that become part of the fabric, and the memories, of our lives. Long after many words may be forgotten, an uplifting, inspiring or happy sight will remain in our minds, to be revisited and savored again and again.

Your capturing of the poetry in the genesis and birth of the paperwhites is such a wonderful metaphor for all of life. I thank you so much for giving us this special gift ... and like Driscilla, Sheila, Nicki and others, I do hope to apprehend your special "Voice" ... as well as your words ... more and more as the blog, and our lives progress....

  8. Jennifer,
I will never be able to express myself verbally in the eloquent ways you share with Nicki, Sheila, Betty, and so MANY more who have yet to share with us. Because of this, my style of communication will be different, as it should be, and my gift in it's own way.

I find myself chuckling as I jot down an idea, then work on "icing the cake". My chuckles come not from my idea, but from anticipating how you will extend it, analyze it, find commonalities, metaphors, analogies, etc. I'm sure you could take any idea the rest of us throw out and write an epic-----and I mean that in good way!

I look forward to the diversity of our Voices.

  9. Thank you so much for your kind words ... and I must say there is nothing wrong with the eloquence of your words, either.

A rousing cheer (grin) for "diversity" ... of our "Voices" and our lives ... and all the "little things" that make us each sui generis....
